According to a new research that has come out, following a low carb diet does not have any side effect on the body. On the contrary it helps to reduce extra fat from the body thereby giving it a toned and attractive shape. Lots of people also have the notion that having low carb diet may even cause harm to the kidneys. However, this has been proved wrong through a recent medical study that was conducted at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
The results of the tests
According to the study made by Allon Friedman, MD and his other colleagues, there was no stark affect of low carb diet on the kidneys of individuals who were suffering from obesity related complications. The tests were conducted over a span of two years and no harmful effects were noticed. Nevertheless the researchers mentioned that further examination and follow up was required to determine the long term effects of being on a low carb diet plan. Also there needs to be some examination done on individuals with chronic kidney ailments, diabetes, and high blood sugar.
